Hello,
I am interested in relocating to Cuernavaca from Kentucky, USA. I am currently certified to teach music, K-12(general, choral, and instrumental). I am looking for any insight as to job possibilities in music or teaching English? What kind of pay scale (13 years teaching music)? Safety of living in Cuernavaca. Anything else you can think to tell me. Thank you in advance for your replies.

I don't think you'll find many people here who know much about music teacher jobs. Most schools in my small town do not offer music at all, I enroll my children in music classes through the local cultural center (Casa de Cultura) but it's a non-profit and I know the teachers don't make very much there.
I will tell you that Cuernavaca has become much much less safe in the last ten years. 10 years ago I would have moved there if I had the chance, not today. |

I taught in Cuernavaca from 2006-08, and loved it. I can't speak for current conditions but I never felt unsafe there during that time. I understand that things have changed since I left, so I'd suggest trying to find more current information than what I can offer. |
