Hi all,
I've taught in Thailand for several years, mainly at language institutes and high schools. I've been in a relationship with a woman working in Pattaya and would like to move towards that area. I see there is a large school called Burapha University International College in the area.
Does anyone have any experience with this school and know what the salaries and hours are like and what the overall morale is like at these campuses? I'm going to go in and talk to them the next time I'm down that way but would like a heads up on accommodations, salary and what the hours / vacation are like.
Is it a typical 20 - 30 hours a week for 22,000 BHT a month with subsidized housing?
Any info would be much appreciated! |

Burapha University Intl. College is a typical Thai college offering a typical Thai EFL salary of around Baht 30,000 per month. If you move to Pattaya it would be a decent place to work. Just remember the Pattaya area is now as expensive to live as the Bangkok area if not more during the tourism season. Good luck! |

Thanks for the info. Yeah, that gives me a good benchmark to go by, then. I was earning about 9,000 approx. less than that at a uni. in Bangers.
I assume students will be as academically inclined and motivated as they are in other unis.
30,000 is better than I have been earning but it will take a chunk out if I eventually move to Pattaya, I'm' sure. |
