I would just like to extend my birthday greetings to all of the other board members who have had this joyous day stolen from them forever only to be replaced by a national day of mourning called "Patriot's Day" to sooth our national grief and that of melancholy remembrances.
For me, it will always be September 10th and I remain 41.
For all our rights and wrongs, God Bless America! |

Thanks, DLIguy! Flags all flying at half mast here, at least where I am. No doubt that's the case across the country. So it's your birthday? Well, happy birthday to you! 42--oops, 41-- should be savored and enjoyed as one of the best years life has to offer. Here's to yours!

Thank you for your singular observation and post, AGoodStory. I omitted the important point that I was 41 on September 10, 2001. I have, however, as you suggested, savored and enjoyed some of the best years of my life and after my lengthy and sometimes tense years in the Middle East am now at a good place in my life, have a loving and supporting family and a decent job with very good benefits.
Life is Good. |
