Which option between these two do you think looks better for applying for a job in the Gulf. Can't make up my mind.
Option 1:
MA International History + PG Cert TESOL + DELTA
Option 2:
MA TESOL + PG Dip International History |

Option 2 for the MA TESOL alone since coursework in international history has no bearing on TEFL. Plus, employers (in the UAE) want to see a complete, relevant MA, although a Delta carries some weight. |

Is there a CV style or format that would be recommended for instructors applying for a university position in the UAE?
For example:
1. Should it be two separate pages or both sides of the same page?
2. What is the generally accepted/expected order of qualifications on a CV in the UAE? IOW, should education or work experience be listed first?
3. Photo?
4. What specifics should be emphasized under work experience? Courses taught, accomplishments, responsibilities?
5. Should publications be listed by date or category (research, book reviews, etc...)?
6. Marital status, nationality and religion--put them on or leave them off?
7. I've been teaching for quite a while, how far back should I go listing work experience? I was thinking about just putting my post MA TESL teaching experience but I that's ignoring about a decade of work.
In case it matters to the above, I plan on attending the TESOL Arabia job fair. |
