-40, damp, end of winter in Moscow. 2 metres of filthy snowpack on the sidewalks, which as it melted slowly over the spring revealed literal tons of broken glass, cigarette butts, and other (often more revolting) garbage.
Then the other extreme: May Day in Moscow - when every sidewalk, corner, and park has been shoveled, swept, brushed, painted, and planted - an extreme of beauty and cleanliness shining in the sun.
Oh, sorry. You only wanted the 'worst,' but I can't slam Moscow without also mentioning the other end of the spectrum. |
