|
|
Hey folks,
The term is winding down and most of my classes will be cancelled in the upcoming weeks for exams. I wonder if anyone has some ideas for a final class lesson plan ... I teach Chinese college students so you'd think they'd be up for anything. But my own pathetic efforts today to send them off with a bang convinced me of the need to solicit help from my fellow teachers. I tried doing a search on this site but couldn't find anything - any suggestions would be welcome. I just don't want them doing the usual dialogue thing, you know? Thanks! |

| Ask them what they want to do. They are more likely to have fun if they are doing what they want to do. |

| How about using it for helping them develop a study plan? - assuming that they're being examined for English. |

| Let your hair down, man! There is no need to take college "conversation" class seriously on your last day at school! Enjoy at least one session - even if it's the last one; a party, why not? Play the BeeGees, Beatles or Simon & Garfunkel and let the kids jot down the lyrics. |

| Point taken, Roger. I suppose I've taught them all I can in our brief time together, and breaking my general prohibition against songs & games wouldn't kill on the last day of class. You are all right in that I should avoid a more structured lesson plan and just have a bit of fun. I guess I could play some music, have them write down the lyrics, and chat with them a bit. But I certainly won 't be playing the Beatles, cripes. Bring on the Stones! |
