|
|
Hi guys
I've got a telephoned interview with the International School of Chouiefait, which is a SABIS school.
For my application, I have to put the countries available into my preference order.
I've got a choice of anywhere in UAE, Doha, Qatar, Muscat, Oman, and Manana, Bahrain.
I'm leaning away from Bahrain because of the political troubles. I'm also leaning away for UAE incase I end up in Sharjah, or somewhere super strict.
Does anyone have any feedback on living in Muscat or Doha?
Thanks so much! |

I hope you have done significant research on this organization. Don't take a job with them until you read a few years of their threads on here... and there are a number of blogs that you should be able to google up. It is not a job that a professional teacher is likely to have any interest in pursuing. Some beginners to the field end up with them as they don't have other offers.
You will find very few teachers that have much good to say about them... as employers... or as an educational system. And future employers will not like seeing them listed as a previous employer on your CV.

Thanks for the reply
I just researched Sabis on the board.....it doesn't look great.
I'm not really interested in teaching as a career, I just thought working in the middle east would be cool.
However, from what I can see, it just sounds like a depressing year abroad.
I'm quite opinionated about things, so I can only see myself getting fired quite quickly the moment I disagree with upper management. And I'd be especially wary of someone holding my passport for 2-3 months.
I'd really love to work and live in the middle east, but I don't think this is an option anymore. |
