Hi everyone,
Does anyone know about this program? https://americantesol.com/tesol-inclass-catalog.html
While I know it is way better to do a fully in-class program, it looks like I may have to do a certificate at least partially online. Will this hybrid TESOL be respected like the Trinity TESOL or CELTA, or would I just be wasting my time?
I'd appreciate any input!
Thanks. |

Respected? No. It's certainly not of the same caliber as the CELTA, SIT TESOL, or Trinity CertTESOL. However, it would acceptable for entry-level teaching jobs requiring a bare-bones TEFL cert---that is, those jobs in which any cert will suffice. |

A quick scan of their website indicates that the 20 hours on site is 'with a professional' but does not state that there is any practice teaching done.
The key component of a CELTA or equivalent is actual supervised practice teaching with real students. |
