HI THERE..
is the course is any good? Are the tutors always willing to help or are you pretty much left alone? Also, how much support and guidance was there during the course and the dissertation?
Also, most MA TESOLs via distance learning are 2.5 years but Sunderlands is only 18 months.. is it full time or part time? Realistically how many hours should be set aside each week?
I guess doing 18 months is better than dragging it out over almost 3 years.. wouldn't you say?
Sorry about all my Qs but I really am not looking forward to doing it but my employer suggests and it is part of my contract here in the UAE.. if I don't get my MA in 3 yaers then they wont renew my contractis |

Just resurrecting this post as I am also wondering about this course... I guess at the end you get an MA TESOL degree so it should be fine. Though I also suspect you are given more work to do to cram into those 18 months (as opposed to 2.5-3 years as offered by the other unis)? I wonder if anyone has any experience to add to this discussion. Thanks in advance. |

Most US grad degree programs can be completed in about 2 years; UK programs are generally less than that. Anyway, I can't comment either way on this particular university. |

FWIW Dr Michael Pearce, author of the useful Routledge Dictionary of English Language Studies, is involved with at least the Corpus Linguistics option. |
