Wondering if anyone has had to apply for a Tourist visa at the Russian Consulate in Ist.

Tried to find their hours on the net but there was no info. Their email address doesn't work and the guy who answered the phone didn't speak Turkish or English.

I plan to walk down to the Consul myself later this week and see if the guard can give me some info but would like to know if anyone here has had to apply for one and what was the experience like.

I already have my Letter of invitation from the Russian Visa office.

Well for those of you interested.

The Russian Consul had some other site with old info which they said they weren't responsible for.

Here's the proper site
http://www.istanbul.turkey.mid.ru/

In addition there's an office in Ist. that will do all the paper work for you, they work on behalf of the Russian Consul.
