I decided to post this here, as it is regarding a job in the UAE. An organisation called Edvectus got my profile off TEFL.com and sent me an e.mail; asking if I'm interested to send my CV. Looking at their website, it appears that they are not fully operational yet (http://www.edvectus.com/), as the screen says 'launching October' and several of their links don't work. Has anybody else had any contact from them? And, if you have; do you think they're professional and/or legit? |

Highly unlikely...
Standard advice is to avoid any new organizations... unless you are totally desperate for a job.
Not to mention that all of their existing adverts seem to be for Kuwait, not the UAE. And neither of the two ads that I found were for English or EFL teachers.

Sounds like something that calls for antibiotics. |

Thanks VS. Yes, I did an extensive search and found pretty much the same thing. I haven't sent my CV, but I have asked for some more specifics about the proposed position, which were lacking in the initial e.mail. I'm keen, and raring to teach again, but never desperate. Yes DM, it does sound like a cure for something rather nasty. We'll see. |
