Trick - someone posted old tests online for students to see. Not sure how I feel about that. According to old-timers here, the tests haven't really changed in over 3 years. So, they've become shopworn and stale and common knowledge to the students and their relations who follow each semester. Admin argues that new tests aren't necessary because we don't show students their graded tests - "it's not a useful teaching tool" they say. I don't think there's any research to back that up - more likely, it's an excuse for them to sit around the office and Facebook instead of doing their jobs.
Treat - we had a nice Halloween party. We all dressed up and I got a lot of compliments on my costume. |

Really?
What were you?
An expat EL teacher?
Now that's really scary!

I bet there were a lot of clowns, cowboys, and hockey players at the party. There is an overabundance of those types at Shabaka. |
