With the pound seemingly strengthening against the riyal (6.12 on XE as at 28th Nov) I wonder if there would come a point when it would be better to get paid in riyals and then just convert to dollars.
I also wonder why the pound is so strong and whether it will go under 6 again in the not-too-distant future. |

do you have a choice of what currency you're paid in?
I don't. But I get paid Riyals (based on a dollar salary). Repatriating this at the moment isn't worth my while so I'm waiting for the pound to weaken. |

I am paid in riyals. I don't care too much about exchange rates but if it went to 6.20 or something then I would look at the figures... Last year it was 5.80 for quite some time so there is quite a difference, especially with large amounts of money. |

At the dinner table in the KFUPM staff canteen there was a clique whose sole topic of conversation was exchange rates. The dumber amongst then were snares into speculating on currency futures. Some of those fools lost a lot of spondulicks.
