How many hours class contact do you have ? Normal at government unis is 20 a week plus 5 "office hours". Two semesters in the year and each has 15 weeks teaching. |

That doesn't sound like the Saudi semesters to me. Usually, universities and colleges have 40 teaching weeks. I also think that full-time lecturers would be teaching around 12 classes a week maximum.
If you are working for a contractor then the contact time would go up. |

I taught 18 hours per week with an additional four set aside as office hours. Committee work dropped me down to 15 hours of teaching time per week. |

I teach 12 hours a week with one office hour per day at KAU. Last year, I had 18 teaching hours per week and two hours of office time a day. |

Ministry of Higher Education lays down the calendar for all government universities. 15 weeks plus a few days fro exams. Those on prep year teaching normally do 20. Teaching undergrad students will entail a lesser number opf weekly class contact hours..

normal at Aramco is 18.75 contact hours a week (5 periods a day).
Anything above that is paid either as 1 hour overtime for a 45 min period if unscheduled or 1.5 hours if scheduled. We're not often on scheduled overtime in Dhahran but other centres are at the moment. |

This is a good indicator of job quality. Those outfits asking you to teach more than around 18.20 hours are best ruled out. |

Also worth considering how many of those hours can be doubled up because you are teaching the same levels or material. Also, how many different classes of students do you have over the whole of your contact time. More classes = more admin. |

At my first PYP position I worked 15-21 hours over the course of 6 semesters with no required office/admin hours for most of those semesters.
At my current position, my current schedule is 16 hours a week but 8 of those are repeats, and 2 hours of office hours per week. |
