First off, just want to say thanks again, settled into a nice place in del valle the other week and I really like the area. I had no idea how nice and mellow it was down here. However, I've found it pretty difficult locating furnished one bedroom apartments for even $4000/month anywhere near Insurgentes. So I'm kind of still looking as I'm only paying month to month, though I'm fairly content with where I am.
Anyway, I wear biofinity contacts and at the few places I've found them being sold, the price has been well over $1000 for a box of six (~$2500 for two), which seems kind of exorbitant. I figured they'd be much cheaper. I don't have astigmatism or anything but haven't had good experiences with other brands in the past (which are also expensive here). I tried the eye shops near Allende, Walmart in del valle, the giant Liverpool (I think that's the name) shopping center next door, sandborns, and various other places I've run in to. It's not a big deal but I'm just curious if any of you who've been here a while and may wear contacts know of any secret spots to check out. Or maybe you can just tell me that's the way it is here so I can pull the trigger. Happy late thanksgiving, too. The annual empanadas as usual for me. |

I don’t know if this helps, but my offspring all get their lenses at Optica Lux. Maybe that’s one of the places you already checked. Have you tried Costco? |

I have a close friend in the foreign service, she previously worked in Mexico and Ecuador and is now in Peru. She turned me on to ordering glasses online, and I've noticed their are places for contacts too.
Zenni is the most recommended for glasses, but they don't seem to do contacts, But costal.com does do contacts as well as glasses. |

Appreciate it. Buying online is real cheap. Went to Costco last night, think they only sell accueview brand contacts. The price was pretty similar to other places as well and I didn't feel like buying a Costco card quite yet (though for the record you can buy one and get a full refund for it if you turn it back in within the first 6 months). |

I got mine in Liverpool and paid something like $1,500 for 6 pairs. I thought it was pretty good since each pair lasts 2 or even 3 months, easily a year's worth. |
