Well I've visited Zhaoqing before and can say that it's a beautiful, albeit small place. It has a gorgeous lake and an abundance of outdoor spaces, with mountains nearby too. If you're outdoorsy, it'd be a nice, slow place to live. There's a bit of new money there too, so there are some modern conveniences.
Living would be cheap and you're only an hour from Guangzhou by regularly running bus services. I can't imagine the university is going to be excellent or very large simply based on Zhaoqing's size, and the fact that in my years teaching in Guangzhou, with some students from Zhaoqing, I've never heard a student mention the school once. |
