Hi all,

My boyfriend and I are planning to teach abroad for the first time in September. We are set on teaching in Istanbul, but we are still searching for a good offer. We are both TEFL certified with Bachelors degrees and my boyfriend has been teaching ESL for a few years (I do not have teaching experience). I am wondering if my lack of experience will hold us back from the "good" schools. So far English Time has offered us positions as well as a language school called Oxford as Academy. We have not been happy with either offer so we are still looking. I have read a lot of posts on here and see there are different opinions on almost all schools (which makes sense, considering everyone will have a different experience!). We started pursuing an opportunity through Teach to Travel but someone told us they outsource, so we are back to square one again. I am wondering if people have had better experiences with recruiters or if people can name some of the better schools we should be looking at. I have heard better things about Wall Street Institute but see they want people with teaching experience, so I'm not sure if I can be considered. Any insight would be appreciated! Please go easy on me, this is my first post and I am new to the ESL world Rolling Eyes Laughing

Try EFinst, they're always recruiting and not bad at all. I think they'd take on someone certified (if it's a 'real' certificate, not online) with no experience if you can make a case for yourself. You were right to turn down ET and Oxford!

Thank you both for your replies. We are having an interview with EFINST and hope that works out. A principal in Istanbul told us we need to act fast because most employers are finalizing hiring for the fall Shocked
