I am curious - Has anyone on these boards managed to secure full time, non - seasonal ELT work in Ireland, even on a contractual basis? If so, I would be interested in hearing how and where! |

Forget about the how. The real question should be why. With super high unemployment, especially among young adults, can't think why a foreigner would ever be offered a job. |

I know a few highly-qualified Irish teachers with good gigs. Like in other tight job markets, they got the work by
1. having much better than average qualifications
2. knowing local people - having a local reputation
3. luck
And no visa issues, obviously! |

Thanks for the replies guys. Actually, I guess it's 'where' I'm really interested in! Do you by any chance have any idea where your Irish acquaintances work Spiral78? Third level instituitions or language schools? Dublin or elsewhere? |

Both at universities. I think private language schools would be similar to those in the UK or North America - chock-full of locals. |
