Hello. Curious if there are any Spanish speaking countries where one can earn a good living teaching English. Somewhere around $2000 USD take home. Would prefer Spain, but not holding an EU passport makes that a huge pipe dream.
Background: US Citizen, MA TESOL, six months experience in France, three years teaching university level courses in the US, two years teaching experience in Japan.
I appreciate any info you can offer. |

The relationship between take-home salary and "earning a good living" is very much dependent upon the cost of living in any given place. If you want to have a certain amount left over each month (e.g., to save or to pay student loans), then it might be better to work off of that number, rather than salary.
(Sorry, I don't have any information specific to Spanish-speaking countries...) |

There are full time jobs in Mexican universities that pay almost 2,000 a month.
I'm assuming you have loan payments you are trying to make?
A single person can live well on less than that in Mexico. Come visit the Mexico subforum for more info. |
