My apartment building has recently become infested with 18 year old Omani boys. What are the repercussions if I simply pack up and go? |

If you have a Municipality contract then your landlord could take you to court.
If your landlord is in anyway amenable, speak to him or her and the problem could be easily solved. Omani landlords generally don't want teenagers congregating in their building

I would also talk to your employer... and particularly any Omani in management. Ask their advice on what to do.

Go where? Elsewhere in Oman? Depends on your contract for the apartment and your landlords attitude. |

|

Many landlords request a month's rent as a deposit plus 12 monthly cheques in advance for the one year long rental contract.
By just up and leaving, the deposit is gone and there is a risk that the landlord keeps cashing in those cheques.
It could be arranged that the bank may cancel them but after my experience with the efficiency of the local bank, I would not rely on it.
Best to put up with it. |
