Hello.
I will be leaving for Japan this summer. I've done some googling and gotten some contradictory answers. I'd like to just stick with the brand I'm on currently and get a years supply for when I'm in Japan. I've read that I can only take/have sent a one month's supply at a time? If I want to take more I've to fill out some forms? But I've also read that I can take all the birth control I want in my luggage because it's not a prescribed medication in Japan? Anyone know for sure? Or does anyone suggest switching to a diff brand in Japan? I'm currently on Tri Cyclen Lo, never been on anything else, never had any problems with it.
Thank you! |

Ignore my previous answer. I double-checked some of the details, and it turns out I was wrong. I'm still not 100% sure, but it seems more likely than not that you can't get your preferred formulation in Japan.
If you want to bring more than a month's supply into Japan, you should obtain a yakkan shoumei certificate. Here's what you need: http://www.mhlw.go.jp/english/policy/health-medical/pharmaceuticals/dl/qa1.pdf. Allow a few weeks to process the documents.
