This is kind of an odd question, but I'm hoping some people here might have suggestions.
I am nearly completed with my teacher certification in k-8 general education for the state of Maine. Coursework is completed. All I have left is a semester of student teaching. Instead of doing this semester at a school in the United States I want to do it abroad as a paid instructor. The problem with this is that the school I choose must follow a US curriculum, or be based upon standards/models used in the American public school system.
Private language academies like those in Korea don't qualify. International schools probably do in most cases. However, I cannot apply to these because they all require state certification for employment.
Does anyone have suggestions for schools or types of schools that meet the qualifications I describe?
Are there some international schools that don't require state certification?
I have a BA, CELTA, nearly completed MA in Education, and 3 years of international ESL teaching experience. Korea would be preferable, but I'd be willing to work in Timbuktu if that's what it takes.

I have no direct experience, but a place to get more info might be the Consortium for Overseas Student Teaching (COST).
There is a list there of universities that offer student teaching abroad opportunities. Even if your university isn't listed, you might find a university that is in your state that could give you information about doing your student teaching abroad. |

Colegio Interamericano in Guatemala City offers internships through a couple of universities in US and Canada. They might set up something for you. |

Check out the American International School of Guangzhou (AISG).
Good luck
