Hola!

I am interested in going to Vietnam and Cambodia, probably Feb. of 2005 (Chinese New Year). This is what I want to do;

Fly to Kunming, then take the train from Kunming to Saigon with numerous stops including of course, Hanoi and Saigon, then go from Saigon into Cambodia, spend a night or two in Phnom Penh, then travel upwater to Siem Riep, spend 3-4 days exploring Angkor Wat, then go to a Cambodian casino on the border with Thailand, then travel to Bangkok. maybe spend a day or two in Bangkok for slurpees, BK and Thai food, and maybe some general exploring in BKK, which i failed to do this last year.

Then I am going north from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in Northwest Thailand for an elephant trip. Then I enter Laos, see the Plain of Jars, Laung Prabang, then take a boat down the Mekong River to the capital Vientiane, fly back to Kunming and then to our respective homes.

How much would this foray cost me? I am budgeting about 1600-2000 USD.

Anybody interested? I have been to Laos and Thailand and both are worth going! An american can travel with no visa in Thailand, and getting a visa in Lao is a snap. I am sure it is the same way in the other two nations. There is a Vietnamese consulate in Kunming (which is a cool town itself). If time permits, going to Dali and Lijiang trial is always a pleasure.

I like to travel, sort of a backpacker, but not really. I do not stay in expensive hotels, but hot water and an AC is a must, TV nice but not necessary)

If you might be thinking the same for a holiday in IndoChina, feel free to PM me or e-mail me.

Senor
