Hey everyone.
My name is Daniel, and 4 months ago I passed the CELTA course here in Liverpool. I'm looking to hopefully get a job teaching somewhere in Asia, preferably Thailand. I've just been incredibly apprehensive about applying for places to teach. I was wondering if anybody could suggest anywhere that might be worth looking into, even just countries, cities, anything that might just give me a little bit of ease and confidence going into this. I'm open minded about location.
I'm 24 years old, and I know it sounds sad, but I've spent my whole life being complacent, and as we approach August/September I feel it's important that I really push myself. I've looked on the boards many time but I'm finding it quite overwhelming hahah.
CELTA was one of the best experiences of my life, and once I got into it, I found teaching incredibly rewarding, and fun.
Any advice at all would be welcomed with open arms.
Thank you |

At 24, you haven't yet had a "whole life."
Do you have a bachelor's degree? If so, what's your major? |

Haha, feel a bit better when you put it that way.
I've got A-levels in English literature and English language, and a bachelors degree in Creative Writing. |

Hi, Daniel,
Congratulations on your CELTA! I recommend posting your questions on the Thailand subforum below, or even the General Asia board. Since you are interested in a specific country/region, you will have a better chance of getting useful advice from teachers with first-hand knowledge and experience there.
Welcome to Dave's!

Why go to Thailand and teach in a classroom with 40 kids for 850 bucks a month? You have a CELTA, and I'm sure your degree would appeal to many employers. Have you checked out the Korea, China and Vietnam forums? You can make twice as much, easily, in these countries. |
