Hey Everyone
I got offered a position to teach Oral English at the Zhejiang University of Media and Communications for Spring Semester '11. It seems like a legit university, my current university (San Diego State Uni) sends students over to study abroad, but it could still be a h-hole.
My question is has anyone heard of this university and have any opinions? Or opinions of any of the Universities in Hangzhou?
Also, for those who have lived in Hangzhou and the surrounding areas, what's it like? I've lived in Beijing and Harbin before so I'm not super concerned, just curious. I've heard the university district is rather far from from the city area but nothing a short bus ride can't solve.
Thanks! |

It is supposed to be miles from anywhere and almost a self-contained town.
There is a thread about it somewhere on the Hangzhou Expat website which is www.hangzhouexpat.com |

They have two campuses. One in Xiasha (about 35 minutes by subway from West Lake Cultural Center) and one in Tongxiang (about 60 km from Xiasha - you can take a bus from either Xiasha or downtown). You may have to teach at night in Tongxiang, which means you will have to spend the night on campus in the teacher's dormitory. |
