Denise,
I think half these threads seem to be about that. You'd never know this was a teacher's forum. I'm pretty sick of a lot of this crap that's been going on this forum as of late. |

Not a late night but an early morn, k. I'm somewhat of a light sleeper, so if someone drops a pin, I'm up. Ah well - I make an adequate guard dog at least.

Sorry, I'm already broken, it wouldn't be much of a challenge for you, Denise.
Is it possible to recover from being a feminist produced 'snag?' I wonder.
Maybe a job in construction would do the trick. Or a tour in the military. No, that's not funny.
I grew up on feminism but somehow it does seem to have left out some aspects of reality. How to get it back I wonder? Do I have to dress well and make money? An increased ability to make decisions and some self-respect must be part of the equation. Maybe my mom would know...... |

lol - the eternal quest to get in touch with one's 'inner bloke'
I tried constuction work this year, and let me tell you that it sucks donkey b***ocks - especially in the tropics.
I believe the most common method is to do a full-contact martial art You could try watching 'Fight Club' over and over, but eventually you're going to have to start hitting people - and getting hit. |

Khmer---Are things that boring at Bathurst and Eg? HEHHEH! Go up Marlle ave---you know Marlee? Anyway theres a 24 hour store with a pub in back. I used to live there. And die. Anyway they have a jukebox which may or may not have the Partridge Family on it. They do have the Doors greatest hits. Cool
Here are some words from Feild Commander Cohen.. He is the Man...
Artist: Leonard Cohen
Album: The Future
Title: Democracy
It's coming through a hole in the air
]From those nights in Tiananmen Square
It's coming from the feel
That it ain't exactly real
Or it's real, but it ain't exactly there
]From the wars against disorder
]From the sirens night and day
]From the fires of the homeless
]From the ashes of the gay
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
It's coming through a crack in the wall
On a visionary flood of alcohol
]From the staggering account
Of the Sermon on the Mount
Which I don't pretend to understand at all
It's coming from the silence
On the dock of the bay
]From the brave, the bold, the battered
Heart of Chevrolet
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
It's coming from the sorrow on the street
The holy places where the races meet
]From the homicidal bitchin'
That goes down in every kitchen
To determine who will serve and who will eat
]From the wells of disappointment
Where the women kneel to pray
For the grace of God in the desert here
And the desert far away
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A.
CHORUS
Sail on, sail on
O mighty Ship of State!
To the Shores of Need
Past the Reefs of Greed

Thanks Lager--
No I dont know marlee avenue, Im afraid. A shop with a pub in the4 back, you say? Sounds like china not this place. Of course, this town has a few nooks and crannies I was not awar of whilst growing up in splendid preppy isolation.....
Regarding Leonard, I heard he was dying of throat cancer, but you hear a lot of things so i dont know if its true. However, i did hear that he was observed by a relation of a friend several months back, maybe last year, on the streets of Montreal, where he was speaking to the occupant of a pram on St Catherine Street, or something. the mother was nearby and observed her child and the great poet exchanging wordless syllabbeles in goo goo style. He can still charm the ladies! |

Had a girlfriend briefly in Montreal and we knocked on Cohen's door for the heck of it---no answer. HAHA a brush with greatness.
Yeh the place on Marlee is very ...un-Toronto. Globe and Mail-bread beer and pool tables...What more could you ask for?---and a jukebox.Nice geirl worked there-her husband is a cameraman at Muchmusic...They talked of going to Singapore to open a MuchMusic ther. Ah this is 3 years ago the place might be a condo by now. |
