It can take 2-4 months to be completed.
Best to give your contractor a call. (instead of emailing) |

No... it is what they say... a background check.
Not just a piece of paper from your local police. These are done all over the Gulf by most employers. Some countries call it a "security check."

The Aramco background check can take many months. As VS says, it involves a lot more than a simple police report. Aramco really go digging which is, I guess, unsurprising for a company that is used to getting things out of the dirt.
However, the lengthy background check at Aramco doesn't stop you coming out to work unless they find something horrendous immediately. For example, a guy working at ITC Dhahran was told only a few weeks ago that his background check had completed and was fine.... that's six months after he'd arrived.
In addition, being told your background check has cleared is unusual. Most teachers never hear anything...unless there's an issue. |

Go and have a look at the Aramco Expat Forum. You'll see how many exasperated new hires (not necessarily teachers) are waiting and have been waiting for months. Most of whom have cleared all background checks and medical screenings, submitted medical results, passport, qualifications, police clearance, etc. They are waiting for the loathsome visa block/block visa/visa title. |
