Good city - yes or no? Fun? Clean? Attractive?
Apparently no airport, not even a train station. 4 million people, and on a map, doesn't look too far from Shanghai/Nanjing. I can't figure this place out. |

Very nice city by Chinese standards. A model city for what China would like its other cities to become. Cleaner and prettier than what one might expect. Some stuff to do and Western amenities though certainly not Shanghai. Golf course out on one of the islands in the mucky river. Very good location as Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Yangzhou and Nanjing are all within striking distance. Jiangyin is a nice little nearby city and the old water towns. Across the river from Nantong but no need to go there. You could certainly do worse. |
