Hello everyone! I have a question about working in Japan. I have always wanted to teach ESL in Japan and I think that teaching at an Eikaiwa would be a good way to get my foot in the door. However, I really want to work in Saitama. I understand that chain eikaiwas have branches all over Japan and they would prefer someone who's flexible about their location. I'm hoping that most people would want to be in Tokyo so there would be a good chance that schools have openings in Saitama. I'm thinking of applying to ECC, Coco Juku, Gaba, and Jibun Mirai AKA new Nova. Do you think any of these companies would be flexible about placement?
If you need any additional info about me, I'm a senior Asian studies major who is graduating in May. I have a TESOL certificate from Oxford seminars and I tutor ESL to foreign students at my University. I have also been a flute teacher for the past 7 years. I hope to be in Japan by June 2014. |

I know about Jibun Mirai. They are pretty good with getting you placed close to where you want to be, but getting exactly there may be difficult.
I don't suggest Gaba or Jibun Mirai, though, Coco Juku is okay from what I understand, and ECC is a good company to work for from what I've heard. |

I know you wrote this a while ago, but... Peppy Kids could possibly place you in Saitama. If not, you can apply for transfer after your first year with the company. |
