First, could someone recommend a tailor. I am new to Khobar, have been around the city, but don't drive (yet), and I need to have several pairs of quality dress pants made (I've been to the shops at the malls and didn't find what I need).
Second, could someone recommend a place to get quality camping gear, specifically, outdoor/safari type clothing.
Third, I need to get a new (digital) camera (Canon). Any recommendations for where to look?

I'm gonna' say Rashid Mall. http://www.rashidmall.com/getting.aspx
You may be able to get all three things done there.
As a backup, for a tailor - I'd recommend a walk through the streets between King Khaled and Prince Turkey streets (I think the crossroads are like 16th - 20th streets...) There are bound to be tailors around that area. Sorry I don't have a specific person to reco. Ask around in any shopping area, you'll find a tailor in no time. |

"Modern Tailors" - in a back street near Al Amoudi the Moneychanger.. Lots of them there, consisting of one or two tailors and a sewing machine. You buy cloth from one of the shops around about who sell the stuff by the meter.
Spurn Rashid Mall for this and head to the back streets ! |

I use a tailor who is tucked away in the same building as Al Rajhi Bank on King Khaled 1st street cross. These guys can be hard to find but I managed by going into one of the many suit shops in the area and asking where I could find a tailor. They directed me to him. I also noticed a few when walking between there and the Corniche. Walk/ask around and you'll find a tailor in no time. It's probably more time consuming to ask. |
