I worked at Barry Education, http://barryeducation.com/
I don't know if they are still around. Mostly had Korean students, and I enjoyed most of my time teaching there.
Problems came when not enough new students signed up. I don't know how it is now. If you don't mind a university salary and completely free schedule (meaning you do basically whatever you want) it's a good job.
Since you mentioned family, you might want to also work at several locations. University jobs are ok, but you should visit the campus first (this goes for anywhere in China). Some chain lock their buildings so you can't get out after 10pm, others let you come and go with both a back and front entrance/exit. This is important, you don't want a campus which has your apartment in the back without an exit making you have to circle around and walk across campus each time you want to go shopping, take a bus, or meet someone. In other words, shop around. |
