Wny is it so many people bash the Arab World and the Gulf countries in particular? People still come here year after year because salaries are still good.

It is odd to see so many people trolling this site and others complaining about places that have provided for them for many years. Yes, education standards are poor and sometimes admin is heavy handed and you have to be on the look out for bad recruiters- but then education standards are declining everywhere - some of the products of US and UK universities that you meet these days leave you wondering about falling standards there too.... It is hypocrisy to say money buys you an education in the Arab world when so many Universities in the West eagerly open their doors to foreign students with cash - and the administrators that people complain about learnt their trade and earned their higher degrees in Westeren Universities!
What you get out of any country is a reflection of what you put in..if you are prepared to make the effort you will find that the people in the Arab world are the same as anywhere else...Having worked in Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Saudi as well as in Europe I can honestly say that my experiences were not bad at all...

Having taught English to women in both Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, I am comfortable asserting that the Saudi women are lazy unmotivated zombies in comparison to the Afghan women. So no, Arabs are not just like other people, and no, I won't stop bashing them.

... and there are many young Afghan ladies studying at Kabul's universities who would prefer their teacher had stayed in KSA. No teacher in her right mind comes here! There isn't much breaking news on higher education in Afghanistan. It doesn't matter if your first language is Mandarin Chinese, they'll take you.........and claim you were one of the 100s who applied.

For some people, Arab bashing is a way to relieve stress, at least for the folks living in the Kingdom. It's not necessarily the right thing to do, but I suppose in some twisted way it helps them keep their sanity. For those who have never stepped foot in the ME, not sure why they would do it.
