I've gotten something notarized but never apostilled and am wondering how it works with a background check.

I have one that I got last fall (2013) and would like to use for another job, if possible. I submitted my fingerprints and paid for an FBI check through a company. What I got back was an email stating that my check was clear. It is a 13 page document in .pdf form. Would I print out the whole thing and take it to a notary? How is the notary sure that it is real if I am just printing something out?

You need to confirm whether the background check is still useable for the job you're applying for. Not sure where you're headed but here in China only CBC's less than 6 months old are accepted.

Thanks. I looked at it and found out it was actually from 2012, not 2013, so it isn't usuable anyway. Darn. I was looking into a summer camp in Asia, so no time to wait for another check.
