It seems like BA's and MA's are required to be in specific fields. Will this push out those with unrelated degrees and make it easier for someone with a related degree trying to get into the country?

As I'm sure, no one can know for sure but your hypotheses are appreciated.

If you mean easier to get hired, I don't see much difficulty in getting hired in KSA with a related degree now or in the future. I don't think there are that many qualified people beating down their doors. Yet maybe this is changing because the lower range of salary seems to be getting lower.

It may be that salary is beginning to more closely reflect the relevancy and level of the degree, but I imagine low paying jobs will require little more than they require now in the foreseeable future. How could they, given the hardship of living in KSA.

It's because some private and government universities don't have the kind of turnover rate other Saudi institutions experience, so there are few openings each year, if any. Also, they do their own recruiting and staffing (no contracting companies involved) and are only interested in teachers with relevant MAs and solid experience. Their job ads are likely to appear on TESOL.org, higheredjobs.com, or chronicle.com as well as on their websites, but rarely on general TEFL sites. If there's a larger hiring need, they'll recruit at TESOL Arabia.

Good to know. Thanks for the insight.
