Hello,

I might be a little desperate thus looking for any excuse to see what I want. I have read it in the forums, but does the medical exam for the KSA, Washington DC embassy have to be done in America?

It is clearly not stated on the KSA medical form and the following which is from the Saudi Arabian Embassy's website for the employment visa:

"Medical report (three copies) and lab reports (two copies), along with three (3) passport size color photographs with white background. The medical report must be issued by a licensed physician certifying that the applicant is free of any contagious diseases. The physician must sign each copy of the medical report. The physician’s license number and address should appear on each copy of the medical form. Medical reports should be used within three (3) months from the date of issuance. Children under the age of sixteen (16) do not need a medical report."

Also, only one of the multiple visa agents for KSA that I have viewed has mentioned this requirement.

I am curious if a recent medical exam completed by a Hong Kong doctor would be acceptable or better yet, a doctor in Hong Kong with an American medical license. Could anyone see this being possible and acceptable?

Unless something has changed in the last several years - the medical exam must take place in the same country where the visa application is made.

That is the last I was told, directly.

Well,

I have found a few doctors in Hong Kong who are Medical Doctors (MD) with active medical licenses in America.

Which meets the requirement that a 'licensed MD' must complete the form and provide the American medical license number.

So, the only small problem, would be that the address and phone number would probably be Hong Kong based, and maybe somewhere on the lab report it would mention a Hong Kong address. Besides this, it would be exactly the same as flying my butt to America to get the exact same tests with another American licensed medical doctor.

I think its silly to imagine that it would be a problem, but I am really curious on your guys thoughts and advise!

My first thought would be that you may have found a loophole.

My second thought would be that you could go through with everything and then have it kicked back costing you time, money and possibly the position you are seeking.

Finally, I'd do my very best to ask someone directly in an admin. position who wouldn't be sharing as much of an opinion, but more of a "these are the facts."

BTW: In the particular company I work for - there is no real manageable way to get the job without being present in the US for the first visa process.

Maybe it's different with yours(?)
