I'm a permanent resident permit holder returning to Japan after two years abroad. I need minor surgery but was wondering about insurance. I haven't decided what ward I'll be living in yet and I don't currently live at the address on my resident card. Will I have problems getting insurance?

Of course I'll call the central ward office right away but thought I'd throw the topic out there for other people with similar concerns.

I'm self-employed by the way (yes, my work involves English/Japanese so I think it relevant to the forum).
