Is your college/university library ok in terms of ideas and other things to use in class?
Does it have other good English books or even DVD's?
How update and modern are the books? |
Where I worked in China had three libraries. One main library for all students covering all subjects. A smaller one but again, all subjects and all students. Then the Foreign Studies Building had a small library. Really small, maybe 20' by 10'. It still had a strict librarian though!
The small library had a few English journals, older editions but I was actually impressed my uni had them (no famous ones like TESOL Quarterly, ELT Journal, or Studies in Second Language Acquisition, they were from 2005-2008) . Quite a few Chinese language journals, and a few shelves of books in the English language. There were more Chinese language books about English (I know this as the cover said stuff like 'STUDY ENGLISH'. There were also a few test preparation books, no IELTS or BEC, not even CET, just general 'BUSINESS ENGLISH TEST PREPARATION', again, mostly in Chinese.
I'm not sure how recent the books were, they looked well used, which is surprising as I was the only person I ever saw in there in 2 years (save the librarian). |
