Hi
I was teaching in Japan for almost three years and left to come back home. I realise now what a huuuuuge mistake I made and wished I had never left my 2nd home. I was wondering if it is easy to come back to Japan. I was there from 2010 to 2013. I was up to date with all my health and city taxes etc.
Has anyone any experience of this? do schools look upon leaving and coming back as being flighty?
Thank you!! |

I don't think most places would think you are 'flighty' just because you left and now want to come back. During your previous 3-year stint in Japan, did you stay in the same job for the whole time? If you skipped around to lots of different jobs, that might make you look 'flighty'. Your previous experience in Japan will likely make you a stronger candidate, especially if you are applying for jobs that are similar to what you did before (e.g., childrens' eikaiwa before, applying for childrens' eikaiwa positions again). |

Hey, thanks for your reply!
Yes, I taught at the same school (eikaiwa) I actually loved it when I think back. Of course it has its ups and downs but this style of teaching suits me fine =) I was looking at Aeon but just missed their deadline |

I've met a few people who have left and come back, including myself. Previous experience teaching in Japan is a plus!
Yeah, you missed the start of the school year, but look out for Aug/Sept job listings. |
