Wrong time of year to ask, but I'm asking because I'm only thinking of it now. Are there any restrictions on air conditioning use in Japan in summer compared to a few years ago? I'm just wondering if post Fukishima public places and stores use air con less in summer than before. It was so hot and humid in Japan and unbearable. It was always nice to get indoors and get hit in the face with full blast air con and cool down. I was thinking if going back I want to make sure of this. Korea has a restriction in summers now somewhat and it's really uncomfortable. |

4 years ago the government or the power companies asked people to conserve. But Japan managed, even on the hot days.
There was some sharing of power between the electric companies.
Some people might have used fans more, and A/C less.
It was only the train companies that really cut back, like with escalators or elevators. |
