I can’t and wouldn’t say don’t take it however I can advise some off the issues we have had over the last year.
1st. We are now on the 9th Dean.
2nd. When it comes to HR expect a long and difficult process, the college will not spend money appointing any assistance for the 1 HR person and with over 60 members of staff expect a lot of problems with everything to do with your employment. This is a rite of passage and goodness knows he has been shouted at from every member of staff at least once.
3rd. The college has been open for a year and the Englsih department does not have Internet access, IT have no printers even though it was to be taught for the exam. On the bright side the English Department has 3 printers/photocopiers but no toner and it has been this way for 3 months.
4th. The college motto from the 3rd Dean was “Attendance, Attendance, Attendance” that sums it up its not about education only numbers and money. The students have also gone on strike twice to protest against there treatment. There have been instances were the students have been given nothing to do but the college requires them in for the money.
5th. Only a handful of staff have an Iqama, staff with families have been waiting over 5 months on them getting issued. The rumour is that TQ isn't well liked from the Saudi side and so has had its Iqamas reduced. Expect to be on a Business visa long after your 3 months.
6th. There is no Estate Manager so the Aircon is non existent most days and there is no fire safety equipment. We had an Estate Manager but he required money to set thing straight and started letting people know things are in a bad way and so was fired.
7th. Prior to us leaving for the holidays the management rounded up 18 staff members that signed a partition asking for things to be sorted and promptly fired them in a manner that was something out off a German SS movie. They did promise that the dead palm trees doted around would be replaced, then again that would mean sorting the sprinkler system and money so wouldn't hold your breath.
The is a definite us and them feeling with the managers and in the words off out 7th Dean “You are a teacher you don’t have an opinion.” if you speak out against the managers they will find a way to get rid off you the estates manager as well as 18 staff and a number off others who had there Kangaroo trial are all testament to this. The money you get in no ways compensates the rubbish you will face.
However if you are starving and unable to sell a kidney to feed yourself I would say go for it, if you care about doing a good job and want to be appreciated in a company then this is not the place for you sorry. Search TQ-Terrible Quality Education under FB for group from past and present staff at TQ Mekkah.
Good luck whatever you decision.

I admit to curiosity regarding what way printers were to be taught for an exam....The above may state a very legitimate problem which potential employees should take seriously, but difficult to decipher exactly what is meant... |

Wow... Thanks for that TQ-Teacher... As I am already in Makkah, I only considered them for the outstanding salary they seem to be offering. However, where I currently work, while not well paid, has excellent long-term stability that is more important to my family and I. I don't think the money is worth the headache... |

They are being taught the Cambridge ICT exam and Printers and E-mail also were to be covered, two of the things that were unable as a result of the college’s setup. Out of the 200+ students they had the maximum that passed on any one subject was 5, IT theory wasn't covered because of a serious of blunders on both days.
