				Hello,

I'll be moving to Cairo later this month to accept a job offer, and will need to stay in a hotel room for a while when I first arrive. I'm trying to choose a hotel in a fairly safe area of the city. On some of the online sites that I've seen, there appears to be a lot of hotels near Tahrir Square, although I am a bit hesitant to book a room in that area of the city for security reasons (even though I'm a male). Does anyone know of some pretty safe areas of Cairo that have inexpensive hotels/hostels to stay in that I might consider?

~Thanks

				| Yeah, it's big, big enough for a two hour commute - one way. |

Consult your employer as to a nearby hotel. In fact, if you are coming on a foreign hire contract, they should be arranging it for you.
