I'm soon going to spend 3 weeks in Thailand with my girlfriend.
So far we have booked 3 days in Bangkok and 5-6 days in Phuket.
Can anyone recommend some places to go after Phuket?
I want to go to some unspoiled places towards the north or on the coast.
Thanks |

This board is for English teachers...why not buy a Lonely Planet Guide for Backpackers? |

Who better to ask than the people who are living and working in Thailand right now?
I 'm sure English teachers can be a source of good information |

There's no coast, but Isaan is one of the few areas which isn't totally overrun with tourists in Thailand. Korat is close to Khao Yai National Park and Phimai Historical Park (Khmer temples) and you can continue on the train from here towards Nong Khai, which is overrun with tourists, while stopping off en route as you see fit.
Trains leave fairly regularly from Bangkok's Hua Lumphong to Nong Khai on the Laos border and Ubon Ratchathani on the Cambodian border. |
