Hi
Anyone have any experience working for EF at any of their branches in Beijing?
Is there a high staff turnover?
And was it a positive or negative experience in terms of the workload and the way management treat you?
Thanks |

Some EF consultant was bothering me in a coffee shop a few days ago. He wanted me to quit my job and come work for EF.
He offered me a cigarette several times, which I refused each time... but at least he was polite enough not to blow smoke in my face.
He then showed me lots of pictures of the pretty (in his mind at least) American girls that worked at his branch... and told me several times that he thought foreign girls were more "open" (It's debatable what he meant by that... could have been innocent, his English was poor.) This was his main selling point for coming to work at his branch.
He then asked me if I thought Chinese girls were beautiful. (This was a loaded question without a correct answer). I told him I thought they were pretty, but I am not interested (which is the truth). He took offence. Then he asked me if I liked living in China. (Another loaded question with only one correct answer). I told him I liked China, I like Chinese people, but I am not sure if I will stay... and I am 90% sure I am leaving the city I live in. Again, not exactly the answer he was looking for. He got up and left.
The guy interrupted my movie, it was tad bit annoying.
So, my review of EF: they have annoying Chinese staff who bother foreigners in coffee shops.
By the way the best answers to question 1 and 2 are:
1.) I think Chinese women are the most beautiful women in the world. However, as a foreigner I do not have the right even to look upon their beauty, let alone steal one of them and whisk her away back to Canada. I leave them all to you your worthiness.
2.) China is the greatest country to ever exist and I love every detail about living here. |

1. Yeah I like the way your sister looks.
2. I like China, and it's people, I just don't trust em'. |

I worked for EF Shenzhen for 7 months.
I strongly advise against working for any branch of EF. I found that the worst people in the management hierarchy were the Westerners and their behaviour toward the teachers was downright abusive. |

I worked for EF in Beijing a few years back.
I really disliked their management at the.time. However they are all gone now.
who knows? maybe they are all nice now
I would only go with them if you had absolutely no other option. |
