|
|
I normally take my cds to Book Off, but they pay pitifully low amounts of money like 30 yen per CD. Their redeeming factor is that they'll almost always take the lot of CDs off your hands no matter how high / low the demand is for those titles.
My question is this, Are there any used CD shops that pay anything close to decent, say 20% of the price of a new CD?
I have a couple of nice titles that deserve more than 30 yen. |

Maybe Disc Union or Recofan.
Things have changed and there are fewer of these stores than before.
Book Off is more like rip off. For books as well as CDs. |

Since a lot of Japanese just recycle old books, getting anything for them is pretty nice. |

Disc Union is in Machida. It is on the Yokohama Line.
But they are probably pretty cheap, at least they were in Kawasaki.
30 yen sounds about what they would pay. No wonder that store closed. |

Or maybe they closed because the demand for used CDs isn't what it used to be, with the advent of MP3 files. |

Plus, there's YouTube where people are posting full albums for people to listen to. I know that the sound is not great, but many people prefer it because it's free.
The CD is dead. Only the hardcore fans of any band will still buy them. |
