Is it possible to get the same university job with an MFA in Creative Writing as one could get with an MA in Literature? I only ask, because the university job posts never include the MFA to be a requirement like they do the MA. |

You didn't state which countries you've been looking at, but keep in mind an MA in (English) Literature is much more familiar and common around the world than an MFA in Creative Writing, which focuses more on writing and not English in general.
Instead of focusing solely on TEFL opportunities, I suggest looking at universities and colleges in Qatar (e.g., CCQ) and the UAE (e.g., NYU-Abu Dhabi, American Uni of Sharjah, Zayed Uni...), which have writing centers. Check out sites like higheredjobs.com and chronicle.com for any openings in those countries and elsewhere in the world. |

Thanks for your recommendations. I haven't been looking into any particular countries, just university job posts at random. The MFA is obviously more focused on the craft than the MA, but it also doesn't appear to be as respected (or recognized) worldwide among circles of ESL-related academia. Thanks, again. |
