I've noticed that a lot of the jobs posted on the International Job Board are posted just a few months before the job actually starts. There are some jobs that say they were just posted in July, and the start date for the job may be as early as September.

I'm graduating in December with a Bachelor's in English Education with an endorsement in ESOL. I'm open to starting a month or two after I graduate, and I'm very flexible about where I teach. Should I start applying places now to go ahead and get my foot in the door, or should I wait until jobs are posted with later starting dates?

Thanks for the feedback?

I suggest you wait until you've finished your degree program in December; you'd have verification that your BA was completed, especially for those TEFL jobs that require a degree.

Generally, the reason there are one to two months of more before the job start date is usually due to employment and visa application processing time frames and/or corresponding academic year start dates.

I suggest you wait until you actually have your documents (like degree parchment and/or teacher certification) in hand since, depending on the country you head for, they are often a requirement for the visa application.

EFL isn't going anywhere and there is no shortage of work to be found.
