I heard that foreigners can collect unemployment insurance if they lose their job.
Anyone here have any experience with this? |

Yep.
Got it for 4 months, that was all.
The paperwork is tough and the interviews were long.
You need to apply for at least two jobs a month.
I will work 4 jobs starting in September so I will make it.
Go to Hello Work in your city. |

Misui,
was it 4 months max? or did you get permanent work after 4 months?
Also, does it matter if you are fired or if you resign? someone said you must be fired..
What about the interview? what is required to get benefits? thanks |

You can get unemployment from either being fired or quitting, but it takes three months if you quit as opposed to either zero or one months if you are fired. |

Did you read what I wrote?
How can I get permanent work in Japan? Only in my own country.
I have to work 4 jobs starting next month.
The money runs out this month so I am on my own.
I had a 5 year contract, no extensions. That is why I could get 4 months of unemployment. It depends on what your own circumstances are.
I had to provide information that my contract ended from the university and would not be renewed since it was a limited contract.
The interview is in Japanese.
Every month you do the paperwork, and write two places that you applied to. And you must write which days you worked the previous month, and you must show the pay stubs and write down the income.
There are people who scam the system so you better be sure you deserve the money and you must prove it. |

Typically called 失業保険 (shitsugyou hoken). Literally "unemployement" + "insurance".
See here for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unemployment_insurance_(Japan) |
