|

I will be a Math/Science teacher at a high school teaching the prep courses for those who want to study in North American/English universities. As of now, my math class and science class has 3 students in each and each class is 2x45minute periods (90 minutes).
What should I do with such small class sizes? I am not sure if I want to start teaching on the first day but at the same time, it's hard to think of things to do for 90 minutes.
Thanks |

Let them ask you questions. If you can get them talking, this could go a long time. Then ask them questions about themselves, the city and the school. It's a good way to let you build rapport with your students early. |

Yeah I am probably going to do this. But I dunno, I just don't think it will take 90 minutes with 3 students... |

My experience is that small classes are harder to cope with than big classes.
With the big ones ie 60-odd students you can just expand your normal 40 student style and content.
With the smaller ones - well there is a limit to how restricted your presentation can be - and still be a 'class'.
Seems to me that a 'small group conversation' is how to style it. |
