I've decided to compose a contrefactum text to Doris Day's hit single "Whatever will be will be" based on a teacher's experiences in Saudi. Here's the original song for the uninitiated:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azxoVRTwlNg
[Verse]
When I first saw my home
I asked Muhammad, "Where will I pee?"
"My toilet's broken, when can you fix?"
Here's what he said to me:
[Refrain]:
Inshallah, shallah
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Inshallah, shallah
When I first saw my students' work,
I had to ask them, "Why can't you write?"
Looking quite puzzled, with their reply,
They put my fears to flight. They said
Inshallah, shallah
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Inshallah, shallah
When all I needed was
to make some new copies, oh what a trial!
"The printer is broken. When will it work?"
The answer in in Saudi style:
[Refrain]
For wearing skimpy clothes
*beep* Mutawas put handcuffs on me.
They sent me to prison, I had to ask:
"When will you set me free?"
[Refrain x2] |

You unwisely did not follow through on this enough. Other posters are going to outdo you on this. Perhaps you should have posted it on You Tou Tube with a singer singing your song. Never the less very brilliant. |

(a few slight changes to make it flow better) LOVE IT!!!!
When I first looked at my new home
I asked Muhammad, "Where will I pee?"
"My toilet's broken, when can you fix?"
Here's what he said to me:
Inshallah, shallah
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Inshallah, shallah
When I first saw my students' work,
I had to ask them, "Why can't you write?"
Looking quite puzzled, with their reply,
They put my fears to flight.
Inshallah, shallah
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Inshallah, shallah
When all I needed was to make
A few new papers, oh what a trial!
"The printer is broken. When will it work?"
The answer in Saudi style:
Inshallah, shallah
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Inshallah, shallah
Because I wore some skimpy clothes
crazy Mutawas put handcuffs on me.
Sent me to prison, I had to ask:
"When will you set me free?"
Inshallah, shallah
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Inshallah, shallah
