Hi all!
I'm leaving for Mexico in a couple weeks, but will be doing some traveling and exploring within Mexico and then Brazil for a few months before settling in, getting certified and beginning my ESL endeavor. I'm trying to make sure I have everything I would need, but am just a bit confused on the Apostille of Degree.
I had one made today at the Secretary of State, and they said for more copies they need an equivalent number of notarized degree copies, however those cost 10 bucks a pop! Will I be fine with only one original Apostille copy of Degree? Or do I need to shell out major cash to get a stack of them?
Appreciate it all. Thanks! |

By the way it is only an Associate's Degree... not sure if that helps vs. no degree in Mexico or if I even needed an Apostille for it, but figured I better just in case.
And if anyone would like to meet up I will be traveling around Mexico from early October to late November before heading to Brasil. Always up for making new friends and taking suggestions on where to explore in-country!
Gracias a todos. |

What you need to teaching in Mexico, more than a degree, is a TESOL qualification of come kind. Some of the chain schools issue their own cert, which is accepted by migration. But to work legally you are going to need some kind of teaching or TESOL credential. If you have time to do a course in Mexico, that might open some doors that a credential from another country wouldn't as it will most likely be recognized by the SEP (the Mexican Education Secretary) which is a requirement for a lot of schools, more so in Mexico City than in other places. |
